Wow, Just...Wow!

That did happen, right? We're less than 24 hours removed from the Patriots winning their fourth Super Bowl, right? I mean, sure now it's sinking in and I am starting to really believe it - but I still don't fully comprehend what I - what we ALL - saw last night.

Like many people, I was at a Super Bowl party. Usually there are just a few of us who get together to watch the big game every year - but when the Patriots are in it, all the guys and their wives and their kids all get together to watch. We did it in '01 and '03. 2004 there was some bad weather if I remember so the crowd was much smaller. We also did it in 2007 and 2011. These two games were in the same room and the same TV as we watched last night's game.

We are a very superstitious group, but we weren't going to let that get in the way of us enjoying the Patriots in another Super Bowl. Were we? All I know I was in a different seat than I was in '07 and in 2011. My buddy's dad was there this time and he was wearing the same thing he wore to the divisional game against the Ravens. Not the same thing he wore while watching the game at home - the same thing he wore while AT the game. Outside. Yeah, he was definitely overdressed for a game in a living room - which is why we had to run the ceiling fan and the rest of us be cold.

But that wasn't going to stop us from watching the Patriots! Right?

Things looked great for a while. Then things look horribly horrible. And grim. And the dad went home to watch the rest of the game there....So maybe he was the bad luck charm?

At no point did I think the Patriots could not come back - but would they?

Of course - and you know that by now. But it wasn't that they came back. It was that they then had to give the ball back to the Seahawks.

"This is why you paid for the defense."

Those were the words my brother used last night after the Pats took the lead. He was right! We had a top notch defense - and this was their time to shine. This was there time to make a stop and secure a victory for the team. This was a time for thing to break up passes and...oh...wait, what the hell just happened?

kearse

Oh shit. Here we go again.

Admit. Every Patriots fan everywhere was thinking the same thing. How could this happen again? The offense leaves the field with the lead and the defense lets up some insane ridiculous play. Really? Again!? The air had left the room. We collectively threw our hands up in disgust - in amazement - in denial.

Oh shit. Here we go again.

They're not calling time out? Why isn't Bill calling time out? What is he doing? They're going to run it in and win this game! They're going to run that douchebag Lynch and....Oh we stopped him. Big deal. They're going to run that asshat again and....and....

And this happened....

"HOLY SHIT! HOLY SHIT! OH MY GOD! HOLY SHIT!"

I think these were the words that came out of my mouth. There were kids around but it didn't matter. We were so loud - so insane that nobody knew what the hell was going on.

I still can't believe what happened there. I still can't believe that they didn't run it. That they THREW it! That they threw it and an undrafted rookie free angent INTERCEPTED THE BALL!!!!

And the PATRIOTS ONCE AGAIN ARE SUPER BOWL CHAMPIONS! And all the critics and the haters - all the people who jumped to blame and accuse Tom and Bill and the Patriots - you can all go screw.
